Maggie's Oldham on Gardeners World

Hi everyone,

Gardening is a hobby and labour of love for many of us - a place of reconnecting with nature, peace, the feel of the soil, and the smell of summer plants....

You may recall Robyn recently wrote a blog  - 'Gardening and health', where she explored the known health benefits of gardens and gardening. Our Maggie's Centres use their own gardens as a focus for tranquility, peace, scent, movement - and the creation of an open air space which is a therapy in itself...

Tonight (19th July) at 9pm on BBC2, Gardener's World has a section on community gardens, and Maggie's Oldham (our newest Maggie's Centre) is featured. Mark Lane, from Gardener's world took a look round the garden with garden designer, Rupert Muldoon. Why not have a look yourself tonight - I know I will...

Warm wishes,

Sue
