Today I am feeling..... positive

Started by Anonymous on 18 March 2018 at 08:13

I have to make a decision by Friday (23/03/18) on whether to go ahead or not with chemo for my stage 3 bowel cancer - I would be very interested in hearing from anybody who made the decision to go down the route of alternative action - this is my preference, the right decision for me I believe (several reasons why, which I won't bore with here). It would be so nice to 'speak' to a kindred spirit if there's anybody (fingers crossed) out there. x

Hello, you may have noticed we are undogoing some changes here at Maggie's Online just now  and the maintenance work we have been carring out may have  made it harder for other visitors to reply.

That of course doesn't help you to feel less alone  It sounds as if you have had some difficult decisions to make regarding your treatment. You would be welcome to drop into any of our Centres or to message Sue (susieq) or me online  if you would like to talk things over

     Best wishes

Oh dear, I'm really sad nobody has anything to share with me. I feel so alone and isolated - there are loads of comments re: experiences with chemo, difficulties etc. but I can't be the only person deciding not to take the option of chemo! This obviously wasn't something I decided on a whim, nor is it something I find easy on an ongoing basis. My future (as with lots of others) is such an unknown, having nobody to chat to is difficult. Ah well, there we are.......
