Oncologist Meeting Today

Started by Anonymous on 28 May 2015 at 18:47

Today I had the meeting I have been waiting for. In many ways I have come away very positive for the future despite them confirming that bowel cancer is terminal and they can't promise me a cure, the fact that they are talking about years of on-going treatment gives me hope for the future. Chemo will be starting within the month and I can't wait, if only so I can reassure myself that the side effects won't be as bad as the scare stories. Does this sound wierd or have others had these feelings?

Hello, i am new on here. Sorry to hear you have b cancer, I have stage four secondary bowel cancer. I had my appendix out that's when they discovered I had bowel c, they removed a third of my bowel and lymph nodes, sadly when they were in there it had spread to the peritoneum, the lining that holds your organs together. I'm on my third cycle of chemo another three to go. Here if you want to chat x

    Hello Purplepixie

Have you started your chemo yet - and if so how are you doing? My primary tumour was bowel related, so if you want to chat, I'm here.

    Thinking of you

    Willo x

It sounds as if the appointment gave you the opportunity to talk things through with your Dr/specialist nurse and also to be able to plan ahead as you now know when your treatment will start.  I am aware you are wanting to hear from others who have or are about to start chemo however I just wanted to say the questions and feelings you are having don’t sound wierd  at all. There are many different types of chemo  you are welcome to message me   privately if you would like to talk things over or ask about the chemo you are having in more detail

     Best wishes

    Robyn
