Nails, sick leave and world events

Sheesh, I thought having to work Uni Open Day the day after the Brexit vote (just a couple of days before I went for my biopsy) was bad enough. Dozing through overnight radio on the US elections (my PhD was in American Studies so I have a lot of American friends and contacts) was just excruciating. And now my fingernails are acheing so I need to drag out the cuticle cream to see how if they can be protected. I'm aware it can be bye bye fingernails. :( And work are disputing about what will happen to my sick leave when work is closed over Xmas/new year. Honestly, lesser mortals would just throw their hands up in despair. How I'm managing to smile and make out like I can keep going is bewildering at this moment.
