14 August 2016

The last couple of days have been lovely, I have been feeling good, more active, more able and more myself again.

On Friday one of my old managers, Linda, invited me over for lunch, we had roast lamb, ROAST LAMB IS MY MOST FAVOURITE MEAL, it was bloody delicious and it was so lovely to see Linda and catch up, it turned out to be a really lovely day, so lovely in fact it was early evening before I realised what time it was and eventually headed back home.

So the end of last week was a bit of a social whirl for me, what with lunch with Maggie on Thursday, then lunch with Linda on Friday, I have come to the conclusion I am very well suited to being a Lady who lunches.

Getting out of the house, even if it is only for a short while is very therapeutic when you are not feeling tip top, although at the time you might not feel up to it, if you can push yourself just that little bit, it really can do wonders to lift your spirits.

The other benefit is, when you are out and about, you tend to focus less on what is wrong with you and more on just enjoying the change in environment and the company, so really its a win, win, I thoroughly recommend it.

Yesterday continued to be a good day for me, I was feeling alert and in a good place, I made the most of it and pottered about the house getting jobs, jobbed. It was good to feel I had actually achieved stuff yesterday.

Today I finish my antibiotics for this cycle, so from Monday I am medication free for a week, we like medication free.

I am planning on going back to work on Monday, I always look forward to going back to work and seeing everyone again.

I have two hospital appointments next week, Thursday I am back in to get weighed, bloods and to see the Oncologist and get the OK for my FINAL chemo treatment, my last batch of toxics, what seemed like a lifetime away is finally here.

Friday, I am a back at the hospital again, when I find out more about the next part of my journey, surgery.
