CLL and Side Effects of Rituximab

by Anonymous

30 January 2018 at 01:34

I am 75 years old, birthday 13 January 1943. I was diagnosed with CLL about 8 years ago, and the ONLY symptoms I seem to have is a small lump in one node in my neck, and a sense of tiredness in the early afternoon, which gets me to have a lie-down. However in my three monthly blood tests, my mutant white-cells continue to increase. I have been asking the hospital scialist for years it I can be taken on as a 'guinea-pig' to trial new drugs, and at the last visit she finally agreed to put me on Rituximab, or Rituxin, next time I come in. However when I Googled this drug I read a long list of possible side-effects which made me wonder it it is going to be worth the trouble, as otherwise I am quite healthy.

I wanted to join the CLL Chat-room to ask others who may have been put on Rituxin for CLL (specifically), what their experience has been.
