As well as sharing experiences with our friendly online community, registered members are able to contact our experienced online team. The Centre is staffed during office hours and the online team aim to reply within 24 hours.

Psychologists and experts from other Maggie's Centres and partner organisations also facilitate some group and individual sessions.

My experience in dealing with my wife's cancer

Coming home

Jon (my 30-something son) and I bicycled a familiar loop. As we neared home I took a shortcut and came out in front--not that it was a race but still one for the old guy. As I rounded the corner I thought I'd tell my wife how I still have something in the tank. Today is Monday and she passed away on Friday. I did get the last block through the tears.

One of her classmates from the very early years had stopped by. More tears. 

I tell family and friends that we are not afraid of the tears, that the strong emotions wash through us all. That feeling means we are sad but not depressed.

But still...
