Clive James CLL diagnosis

Clive james diagnosed with CLL amongst other conditions

It is unfortunate that Clive James, prolific journalist, TV & radio presenter, poet, novelist, memoirist, comedic performer and fellow of The Royal Society for Literature has added the CLL club to his repertoire. I am intrigued about his recent poems

From the Australian:

Clive James, the expatriate Australian critic and poet, is battling leukemia.

“Free notes that in a recent poem, Vertical Envelopment, James refers to hospitalisations for emphysema and a blood clot, and a diagnosis of leukemia.”

Clive James says "The big thing I am working on, and the one that needs most of the energy I have so little of, is a second volume of my book Cultural Amnesia,"

Free writes. "Poetry was the instrument he reached for" to write about the illness that almost claimed him last year.
