The Sound of Music: a sing-along

on 22 July 2008 at 14:06On Wednesday 6th August Lanark will be alive with the sound of music. A sing-along version of the film is being shown in The Vogue Cinema in Lanark to raise funds for Maggie's and three other local charities. Tickets cost £6 and the show starts at 7pm.
Fancy dress is encouraged and there is a prize for the best dressed. I've not decided what I'll wear - there are so many options! Maria, a brown paper parcel tied up with string, the alps ...... what will you wear?

Hi Hannah,
it was a great night. Lots of people in fancy dress and everyone singing along. I'll definitely let you know about other events. Kate and Anne who organised the sing along were talking of organising another - maybe Grease or Mama Mia. Either would be great fun!

I'm really excited about it! I like the idea of choosing things from the song My favourite things, you could then choose lots of random things! Some people are busy cutting up old curtains to make an outfit.
We're going to have a red carpet as well - all very glitzy! I'll take lots of photos and add them to the gallery.
Wow, I LOVE the soud of music too! Would be great to have something like this in London for our Maggie's down here. I am sure it would sell out in minutes!

I LOVE the sound of music! If only I lived closer, I'd wear some of the things from the My favourite things song - like mittens, roses and sleigh bells.
