Wondering what ideas people have got for things to do on Love Maggie's Day?
I'm working on a couple of things but nothing concrete yet. And realised today that I'd better get my skates on! 26 March isn't far away.
If you don't know what Love Maggie's Day is all about, click here for some more information.
Well we've got about 20 mum's signed up and waiting for bacon sandwiches at the start and cakes at the end. I've just got to warn the pub in the middle that we're decending and get my walking boots out.. shoudl be good just a huge fingers crossed for good weather or the turn out might be drastically decreased...
katiet, how are plans for your walk going?
Everything's really gearing up for March 26.
Here's a quick snapshot of some of the great stuff that's happening:
Love shopping? - check out exclusive offers from our corporate partners - Cabbages & Roses, L.K.Bennett, Ortak, People Will Always Need Plates and The Travelwrap Company.
Read Judith's blog about events and activities happening at Maggie's Highlands.
Read Pippi's blog to see the plans for Maggie's London.
Love hugging? - join one of the big hugs at your local centre.
Send Leah an email (leah.jeffries@maggiescentres.org) if you're planning to join a 'big hug' so she can let the staff know to expect you. The more the merrier!
Find the centre nearest you and see what they're doing on 26 March.
What are you planning for Love Maggie's Day? Tell us about it here.
After discussions yesterday I got excited about the idea of a Twitter hug on March 26.
If you've got a Twitter account, why not follow Maggie's and join us on the day to help tweet a hug for Love Maggie's Day - http://twitter.com/MaggiesCentres
Anyone else got a great idea?
I'm still not sure what to do yet, but this video will be inspirational:

I don't have any form of musical talent, but this seems like a great idea for anyone who does...
One volunteer at the London centre loves yoga. She's decided to organise a yoga class and charging people to get involved. She'll also be baking cakes for after the lesson and charging people to try them. All the money will go to Love Maggie's Day - what a great idea!
Wow, they're both brilliant!
And although it's a good idea (not that I'd thought of it), I don't think getting my skates on is ideal - last time I did that I almost gave myself concussion...
So I'm thinking of something a little more sedate ... around reading and my book group, I think. Still evolving.
Keep the ideas coming!
I love music and have friends in quite a few bands in Glasgow, so I'm curating and compiling a cd to sell and holding a night in Maggie's Glasgow on March 28th.
Bands/artists confirmed so far include - Futuristic Retro Champions, Sonny Marvello, Roddy Hart, Geoff Martyn, Pooch, The Second Hand Marching Band, The Moth & The Mirror and Madaleine Pritchard. Check them out.
I'm hoping that the sales of the cd and the night will raise £750+.
I love walking so I thought I would ask 10 friends to come on a long walk with me one Sunday and end up back at my house for a tea with cakes cooked by my husband and ask them all to dontate £10 each to Maggie's day. KD are you literally going to get your skates on????
