Pseudomyxoma peritonei

Started by Anonymous on 17 March 2010 at 12:14

Hi,

Just 2 weeks before my mother was disgnosied for Pseudomyxoma peritonei. We finally had several examiniations like MRI, CT scan etc... and decided to have a surgery to remove that tumor and the fluid which was held up in abdomen. The removed fluid and tumor was sent for histopathalogy (biposy) test under grade 3 and 4.

The final impression of the tests was:

-Pseudomyxoma peritonei with Benign mucinous neoplasm probably appendiceal origin.

Can anyone advise on this as what could be the further treatment to be taken up? ofcourse i will consult with the surgeon/doctor, but i want to share this with this community and have advised by experts.

Thanks

Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,

Thanks for your post and query.

I hope your mother is doing well.

Unfortunately, Maggie's is unable to offer medical advice. We do recommend that you consult with your mother's surgeon / doctor.

We wish you all the best,
    KD
