Hi I am Reena and I am still in my teens.I was wondering whether anyone has anything to comment about my continuous pain that I have been experiancing for years now.

My pain is located in the left side of my body. And I dont know whether it is just me or it is all in my mind, because I can feel lumps on the area that is painful.I have been to doctors who sent me home with bags filled with painkillers but none of them worked and no one has actually gotten to the root of the problem.I dont know but a part of me tells me it is cancer.Well is it?

The pain is not the only thing that is bothering me.It is also the fatiguness that I have been feeling.I dont know what to do.Anyone with any ideas please shed some light on this.Thank you all for your utmost time and support I really appreciate it.

    Hello Gaye,

Yes, you are right it is quite difficult to make a diagnosis without having a name.I will go see a doctor soon if the pain still persist.Your idea of noting down the pain is an excellant one.Why did'nt I think about that?I mean this thing that I am expreciancing could not be life threathening or anything of such right?Because it has been going on for nearly two and a half years now.The only thing that is different now that my nipples has a yellowy pass kind of subtances in it and there are white pokka dots around the aerola.I can feel some lumps too.I did speak to a close relative, she said it was merely fibroids and there was noting I should worry about.I did check various web sites on fibroids but none of the literature suggest that pain exist when there are fibroids. So I am really in a fix here.Ok then I will try what you have suggested then I will look into other alternatives.I really need to get this problem solved before I get into university in a few months time.Thank you very much for putting my mind at ease a little. You have no idea how it fells like to not know what is going on.Take care and have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

           Reena

    Hello Reena,

I'm glad you found the link helpful. Websites can give some reassurance, but without a name for your condition it's hard to know what information applies to you personally. I know you have tried already, but I really think it would be best to go again to your General Practitioner. Sometimes making a plan for appointments can help you with them, for example make a diary of the pain and any other symptoms you experience over a number of days, including anything that seems to make them better or worse. There is perhaps a nurse at the practice who you could talk to if you would like? Maybe also take a trusted friend or relative along with you for support. Kind regards,  Gaye.

I am 18.I will like to thank you for the link you suggested. It was very helpful but unfortunately it does not explain the pain that I am having. It only explains the white dots.If you have any more websites that I can go to, please do tell me.Thank you once again for your time, I really appreciate it.

    Best Regards,

    Hello Reena,

You don't say exactly what age you are, but sometimes it can be difficult to know what's normal when your breasts are still developing. The Breast Cancer Care website has information on everything about breast health. There is a Breast m8s section especially for girls aged 11-16 which you might find helpful to look at. The website is breastcancercare.org.uk and you can find Breast m8s using the Worried? link. Please let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes, Gaye.

     Hi Miss KD,

Actually they have but all came back positve. They did blood test and my white blood count and red blood count is within the range.Does it mean that if those two are ok the chances of me having cancer is none?

I did an MRI on my brain due to other pass issues.Do you think that is enough since the pain is below my breast?Seriously I am so confucious and scared at the same time.I tried telling my parents that something is wrong but they keep on saying that nothing is and it is just in my head.I mean the pain has intensified since. My nipple kind of has yellowy kind of substance in and the outer part of the aeorola has whitish dots.I dont know what to do.I am scared and very insecure about the whole thing.I am scared it is something more serious than it is and here I am just shaking legs not doing what is necessary.I mean do I go and see an oncologist for this or a normal doctor will do?I have seen a General Practisioneer but he just sent me hope with a bunch of painkillers. He did say that the area was tender. What did he mean by that?I also have tried traditional medicine like herbs but that too did not help.I am affraid because cancer runs in my family. My grandma passed away from brain cancer and a few others as well of breast cancer. So you can see why I am worried.I mean is there anything to worry about or I am just worrying myself sick for  no reason.I cant turn to anyone in this matter so I will have to take matters in my own hands. Please advice me.I am in real need of answers right now.Thank you so very much.

    Hi Reena,

I'm not a medical person so I can't answer you specifically but have your doctors done any tests?

    KD
