50 (as at Mar 09), married, no human children by choice but currently 5 feline ones and hoping to add more! Involved heavily with scottish motorsport, primarily speed events but touching a litlle up rallying thru my membership of Aberdeen and District Motor club. Have worked as a computer programmer / analyst for 25 years now and currently with Scottish Widows.
Long term sufferer from severe clinical depression and anziety - have to work at home as the office environment is not for me right now, and that was before the bombshell that hit me on 25 March - breast cancer.
I had my first mammogram since my diagnosis last Friday and have just got the result – no sinister lumps anywhere!!! Really pleased 'cos my brain’s been not very kind to me – I have a slightly increased risk of a cancer on the other side – and a little voice has been in my ear telling me there’s something amiss. I 'spose knowing me it’s my subconscious way of preparing myself for bad news but I didn’t have to – and I’m very happy about it!
The timing is excellent as well, cos we disappear to India for our first holiday since last May shortly for 2 weeks tiger hunting with cameras. And amazingly – to me anyway – during that holiday we celebrate my first year’s survival since diagnosis.
So all good stuff – except the manflu I’ve just had to fight off – cancer I cope with, manflu crucified me, tho David was happy to hear me complain – I wasn’t well enough to do that much last year!!
