I work at Dundee University in the Press Office. I am trying to train for a 10km race but it is much harder than I first thought!
My dad was diagnosed with cancer just over 3 years ago (when I started working with the press office) - treatment went quite well but had to get more treatment in Jan, fingers crossed it is working well.
I completed the Inverness 10km in October 2010 in aid of Maggie's Dundee centre - I now have the running bug and have signed up for a few races for next year.
I completed the Inverness 10km in a record time for me - 10km in 58.51mins.
It was a fantasti day after the gails and wind the previous day - perfect running conditions.
We started at 11am and it was a bit crowded to start.
It was great to see all the charity t-shirts and think about all the money being raised for these great charities and I was there very proudly wearing my maggie's running vest.
I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who sponsorsed me - dad used all is contacts especially at the Dundee centre and between me and my friend Pam who was also running we have so far raised £619 for Maggie's which is fantastic and I'm blown away by the generosity of everyone.
so thanks to all for the good wishes and money.
